To assess availability of high value Medicinal & Aromatic indigenous plants being nurtured by  the Homoeopathic Community Welfare Organisation at the Ukhrul District Head Qtr. with the objective to promote production of these  MAPs for commercialization,  a team of expert visited the Herbal Garden maintained by the NGO on April 30,2003.  The team consisted experts from the Central Agricultural University, (CAU) Imphal, Manipur University, (MU) Canchipur, Imphal and representative from the Agricultural Development Organisation, (ADO) Canchipur. In addition to the identifying over 200 varieties of MAPs  in the District, the NGO at present culturing about 100 varieties of MAPs in  their Herbal Garden. The Organisation financed by the German Funding Agency-EZE, not only formulates various Herbal Drugs but also conducts various awareness programmes in the remote villages of the District on the importance of the MAPs available.
