As an impact of the first "Exhibition-cum-Workshop on Vermiculture and Vermicomposting" organised by the Senapati District Development Council, on 22nd-23rd Jan., 2003 at Senapati District HQ., three Commercial production Unit of Vermicompost measuring (50x3) Sqft. with production target of about 150 qtls. per annum were constructed by themselves and the same were inaugurated by the Dean College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal. The programme was sponsored by Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium. Resource persons from ICAR  Imphal Centre, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, and NGOs deliberated in the inaugural function. About 120 participants from NGOs, Entrepreneurs and farmers attended the function.
