Manipur Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (MSFAC) started its regular exposures in the   KRISHI-Expo  held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, since the year 2001,   just after the establishment of the Consortium in Manipur. The main exhibits were the  primary and processed food products of  the Entrepreneurs, Private Sector Units and Government Undertakings. Important exhibits were Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, Bamboo Shoots, Spices etc.   Black Scented/Aromatic  Rice Locally known as (CHAK-HAO AMUBI) and Local Giant Chilli (U-Morok) Capsaicin frutescent could draw special attention of the visitors and have created heavy demands both from National and International buyers. The Chili  of Manipur reported to contain high PC of  Capsaicin to the tune of 2.7-2.8%. could also attract heavy demand from both the National and International Markets. The fancy and domestic utility products of the unique Water Reed locally known as KOUNA also could create heavy demand both for Domestic  and Export Market. Now the Consortium is in a hectic run to meet the demands created during the Expo.

 

 

Manipur SFAC has been publishing regularly its Bulletin since its establishment. The first Bulletin which contains the vision of the Consortium under Manipur context  was released in the Krishi Expo 2002 by Shri. Sudhir Kumar, IAS, Managing Director, Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium New Delhi. The second Bulletin which contains the  progress of its activities  in fulfillment of the objectives of the Consortium  was released in the Krishi-Expo 2003,  by Dr.Suraj Bhan, Addl.Commissioner (NRM Division), Ministry of Agriculture, Deptt.of Agriculture & Cooperation, Government of India.
