Under the objective to identify location specific crops for commercial production for socio-economic development, a two day wokshop on Resource Mobilisation was organised by the an NGO-Young Progressive Planters' Association, Manipur at Trade Centre, Moreh from 16-17 Feb.2004. In the Workshop sponsored by Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium was inaugurated by Shri.Bijoy Koijam, Hon'ble Minister for Family Welfare, Manipur and Presided by Shri.D.K.Korungthang, Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare, Manipur. Prof.N.Mohendro Singh,  Economist, Manipur University Canchipur, attended the function as Guest of Honour. About one hundred farmers, representatives of NGOs participated in the Workshop. The workshop mainly focused on commercial production of tropical crops/Spices like Cardamom, Vanilla. Scope for marketing Bamboo Shoots and High valued vty. Turmeric were also discussed in detail. Manipur SFAC has also assured to facilitate availability of planting materials and marketing of their products through a marketing agency from their Farm Gate.

The Workshop was discussed in detail the role of  Self Help Group in Socio-Economic Formation and Vermiculture as Cottage Industry and its importance in Organic Farming.
